Nika is a multi-disciplinary graphic designer, writer, and educator based in New York. She is currently a partner at Labud, a design and development studio she co-founded in 2018. She also is an assistant professor of Communication Design at Parsons, where she teaches interaction design and publishing courses and directs the associates program.
A designer as well as a writer, Nika focuses on landing on the most idiosyncratic aspect of a project to build out a clear narrative, regardless of medium. She approaches her projects in a similar fashion — first with thoughtful research, in-depth interviews, and establishing a clear benchmark before bringing a project to life with equal emphasis on language and form.
Nika’s writing has appeared in places like The New York Times, WIRED, MIT Technology Review, and the Are.na Annual. Nika is a current board member with AIGA NY. She holds a masters degree from Columbia University’s Journalism School and a BFA in Communication Design from Parsons.
